Doctor Who

I watched Journey's End last night after I got home from work, but was too tired to write anything up. I also haven't really checked my flist to see what your opinions have been. I've just looked at a couple. So here are my pluses and minuses. In the order I think of them.

+ German Daleks

+ Tosh saving Gwen and Ianto. FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE. That's my Toshiko.

+ The companions flying the TARDIS was awesomely awesome. I loved having canon proofs that it supposed to have so many people to fly it. And the hugging. Wait, that should have it's own plus sign.

+ The HUGGING. I loved the Rose/Martha hug and the Doctor/Sarah Jane one.

+ Martha and Rose got along! I was so worried there would be cattiness, and there was none. That was very pleasing.

+ Jack and Martha walking off, holding hands. I really really love their relationship.

+ Martha and Mickey on Torchwood (possibly). I'm cautiously optimistic about it. I love both characters more than is strictly healthy for a person, so I'm glad they might be around. Then again, they're going to be on Torchwood, so who knows how that will turn out.

+ I LOVED DoctorDonna. Loved. I loved how Catherine Tate played it. I loved Donna's glee at it. I loved it. It warmed the cockles of my heart.

+ I liked that Clone!Doctor is half Time Lord, half Donna. I'll get into the stuff is I didn't like about Clone!Doctor below, but the thought that Rose is with some dude who's half Donna? That cracks my shit up.

+ K-9! I fucking love K-9. I didn't know he was going to show up at all.

+ Wilf. Wilf is the man. I love him like Ianto loves pie. He's my hero.

- Way to be a douche to Jackie, Ten. God. It's things like that that make me wish you'd regenerate.

- I'm pretty sure Jack should have been all over Donna, and he wasn't. WTF, Davies.

- This might be sort of unpopular on my flist, but Rose/Clone!Ten creeps me the fuck out. First of all, for some reason Clone!Ten never really seemed like the Doctor to me. Most of the time when I watch the show, I just see the Doctor. But with Clone!Ten I was very aware of the fact that it was David Tennant playing the Doctor. If that makes sense. I don't know why that was, but it weirded me out. B) Clone!Ten has the mind and memories of the Doctor, but in a human body. A frail human body that will age and die. He's stranded on Earth again, with no (immediate) way to go traveling through time and space. He's got to be heading for a pretty serious depression. C) There's more, I'm just not entirely sure how to put it into words. It's this sort of guy level feeling of ickiness I'm not sure how to describe. I don't know if Rusty was going for a They Live Happily Ever After ending, but (for me at least) he totally missed.

- Donna getting mindwiped gets a big FUCK NO from me. It was horrible and gross and I've never cried so hard at an episode of Doctor Who.

? So does this mean they UNcanonified half-human Doctor (depending on whether you considered the movie canon)? Or was just Eight half-human for some reason?

? Did anyone ever explain to Rose why Jack could come back from the dead?

I think I had more negatives I wanted to talk about, but I've had this up since about 8:00, and I just kind of want to post it now. I'm sure I'll post other thoughts if I have them.

In non-Doctor Who news, my ear hasn't really bothered me today. I'm still going to go to the Doctor to have them check it out though. I'd hate to go to Vegas with an ear infection.

My 4th was pretty good. Hung out at home and watched NCIS all day. YAY marathons! Then we did fireworks and no one got hit with anything, so I consider it a win.

I do think I have an ear infection, which blows, and I can't get to the clinic until Monday morning, which also blows. But my mom had some homeopathic drop things, so I put those in. We'll see how they work.

I am very excited about Doctor Who tomorrow. I won't be home from work until 9:30, so I hope I have enough will power to avoid spoilers until I can watch it.

I really don't think that Ten is going to properly regenerate. But not because he's going to be in the specials next year. We know Ten traveled around alone, so I have to problem believing that Rusty wanted to end his last season with bang and kill off Ten, then have the specials take place in the past. The reason I don't think Ten is going to regenerate is because there's no way we wouldn't have gotten spoilers about that. The BBC isn't that good about keeping things under their hats.

I will say that if the spec I read is true then I will be pissed off, because I really hated it.

Also, I don't want anything bad to happen to Donna, but nothing good is going to happen there. Unless she really is a Time Lord and finds a way to bring Gallifrey back. But, despite my Donna=Romana icon, I don't actually want her to be one. I mean, it's amusing to me that Donna might secretly be the Doctor's dead ex-girlfriend, but she's so much more interesting as a human. I want her to be Donna, Human, just as important as a motherfucking Time Lord.

I HOPE SARAH JANE PUTS HER FOOT ON THE GAS AND RUNS THOSE DALEKS OVER. IF BABS CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU! Or Mickey and Jackie can save her and we can have Sarah/Jackie/Mickey fun times. (I can't be the only person who thinks that threesome WIN. IF JACK WANTS TO GET INVOLVED AT SOME POINT I WOULD BE OKAY WITH THAT TOO)

I know this is an unpopular opinion on my flist, but watching the Doctor and Rose run towards each other was pretty lolarious. And like, John Barrowman levels of cheesy.

Harriet Jones, former PM is made of win and awesome. I hope she didn't die and that the Daleks have some sinister plan they need her for, but she kicks all their butts.

I love Gwen and Ianto going down fighting. NOT THAT THEY ARE GOING TO GO DOWN. THEY ARE NOT GOING TO DIE BECAUSE THEN I WILL BE SAD.

I can't wait to see how RTD fucks it up this time!

SO GOOD. I love Alex Kingston to bits, so I was always going to like this episode, but it was really properly good. It had some timey wimey messed up time line stuff that I always think is great.

There was old school stuff ALL OVER THE PLACE. River having a sonic was clearly a reference to Doctor/Romana. The Doctor never lands on a Sunday because they're boring. You know who yelled at him for taking her to Perivale on a Sunday because they're extra boring? MOTHERFUCKING ACE, that's who. You will not convince me that wasn't a call back.

Donna was fantastic, as usual. Kicking in the door, being awesome with the dead girl (Catherine Tate was wonderful in that scene), yelling about the sonic screwdriver not working on wood. She's so obviously doomed though. And River Song knows what horrible horrible thing is going to happen to her. PS: The Doctor stroking Donna's face was one of the best things ever. I ship them so hard it hurts.

Hey, did everyone notice in the creepy little girl's house there was a picture of a blonde woman above a picture of a wolf? Rose ref or coincidence, you decide.

So, I've come up with a few crack theories on who River Song is. Who wants to read them?

1. Before Jack becomes The Face of Boe he turns into a woman. Now hear me out. I know it doesn't match the whole, "you're younger than I've ever seen you" bit, but it's my crack theory and I'll ignore that if I want. She's got a squarey gun like Jack had, she's from the 51st century, she loves the Doctor, AND she called the Doctor to her using the psychic paper, just like the Face of Boe in New Earth. What more proof do you need? That theory makes at least as much sense as River Song being a regeneration of Rose.

2. She's a desendent of Donna. She's ginger, is awesome, and is involved with the Doctor. I HAVE GENETICS ON MY SIDE! You can't argue with science! Who else has ginger hair, besides Donna and Turlough? NO ONE. Ever. And she's obviously not related to Turlough in anyway, because then my crack theory wouldn't be true. THAT IS SOUND LOGICS. After HORRIBLE DOOMISH things that don't involve death happen to Donna, the Doctor becomes totally sketch and starts stalking all of Donna's desendants and eventually he meets River Song. He falls in love with her because she reminds him of Donna. Probably because she likes to slap him around. THIS IS IN NO WAY CREEPY.

3. The Doctor finds out he's not the last of the Time Lords. Again. This time he finds Romana, but the Time War drove her seriously crazy. So he fob watched her. He had the TARDIS give her his favorite aspects of all the companions he's wanted to shag. She's an archaeologist like Benny. We've already discussed the hair situation. And the 51st century Jackness. And um... She calls him sweetie and pretty boy, both nicknames like Ace calling him Professor. It makes PERFECT SENSE. And again, IS IN NO WAY CREEPY.

And now that I've gotten completely sidetracked from my comments on the episode, I'm just going to say it was AWESOME and I wish it was next Saturday now.

1. Fave American Idol (winner and contestant) ever?
I don't know if anyone will ever beat Kelly for my favorite Idol winner. David Cook might tie her though. Only time will tell. My favorite contestant is Chris Daughtry. He's the only contestant who's CD I've ever actually spent money on.

2. What do you think will happen in the Doctor Who series finale?
Donna's already dropped the F word and and she has wicked chemistry with Ten, so she's obviously doomed. Which makes me sad because I love her so much. Rose and the Doctor will be happy to see each other again and part on good terms when she goes back to the Alt!verse. I don't know how spoiled people are so highlight to see the rest. Jack and Sarah Jane will have wicked chemistry, but nothing will happen because she and Alan are... something. Martha and Rose meet and get along quite well. Martha will do something awesome because she's Martha and that's what she does. Mickey will also do something awesome, for he is Mickey, doer of awesome deeds. Then he and Martha will join Torchwood.

3. Who do you want as Obama's VP?
Good question! My top three choices are Clinton, Edwards, or Bill Richardson. I think having Clinton as his running mate would go a long way to smooth things over with all her supporters, but I don't know if either of them will go for that at this point. Bill Richardson has really impressed me, but I don't know if America is ready for Hispanic VP and a black prez. If John Edwards would take the job, I'd love for him to be VP.

4. What do you think Pete and Ashlee Wentz will have, boy or girl?
Either way the child is going to be AWESOME.

5. Your fave holiday and why?
Christmas or Thanksgiving. There's good food and my whole family gets together. I generally prefer Christmas over Thanksgiving, but that's just because we do Thanksgiving at our house so it's pretty stressful.

Unexpected!Janitor was unexpected. I love it when Neil Flynn shows up in something I'm watching.

Mutt being his son was not a surprise at all, but I will admit to being amused that Indy named himself after his dog and Mutt just skipped the whole Named-After-The-Dog thing and went right to just naming himself dog. What? I'm easily amused. More so when it comes to all things Indiana Jones. Speaking of Mutt, he didn't annoying me nearly as much as I was afraid he would. YAY!

God, Karen Allen is just amazing. I love her to bits. I want to be Marion when I grow up. She's fantastic.

I know a lot of people were weirded out by the alien stuff, but I liked it. It fit with all the crazy sci-fi stuff of the 50's. Plus it reminded me of "The Crystal Skull" which is one of my favorite episodes of SG1. ~~Someone should find a way to write some sort of crossover.~~

Amusingly, when we went to get our tickets, my mom asked for a ticket to Raiders. Hee. Oh, Mom, way to live 25 years in the past.
